I've reached out to antec multiple times now about this case (every month or so) over email and even social media DMs about the availability of this version with fans as I really want this case, and they havent responded to me, and this case still isnt available to buy. I check weekly to see if i can buy it on amazon and other retailers. It seems like at this point they dont have any plans to release it...

ASUS quality has gone dow quite a bit over the years. I bought a 17” ASUS laptop in 2007, and that thing was solid as a rock. After some year without ASUS except for my 2007 PC that I built with ASUS parts, I decided to buy a slightly used 2020 A15 gaming laptop. I was so disappointed with the build quality and the screen. It has an AMD 4800 processor and an nvidia 1660 Ti gpu. Then in 2023 I decided to buy a 2022 A15 with an AMD 6800 cpu and nvidia 3060. The build quality was about the same as the 2020 and it had an incredible 2560 x 1440p 144 Hz screen with almost 100% color accuracy … but it died after 4 months… never ASUS again.

A not so subtle biased piece which is a Hardware Canucks standard to lean heavily blue. The AMD temperature of 95C doesn't mean anything other than that's how the AMD algorithm works. The Intel processor is most likely how Intel wants it to run to remain stable. And Hawk Point does out perform Phoenix, so it's not just a re-badge. I guess it saves some time when you don't really understand the actual products and just need to hype one and disparage the other.

The keycaps are just too ugly. My eyes won't withstand that.

What I will say, cooling between 100% pump and 50% is negligible. Maybe 1c difference on my system. I am running at 50%. Hopefully helps longevity also

Regarding the gradual clockspeed decrease on the zenbook with intel, asus hasn t done anything to address it in the past FIVE years. I have a 2019 zenbook ux434 with an i7 10510u, and the same behaviour happens. It starts at 30w turbo, which naturally decreases when it switches to PL1 (15w), then it slowly goes down to around 8w, sometimes even 7 when rerunning cinebench, and temperatures are around 65C. The fix is either using throttlestop or using linux which is way more consistent.

Can you actually change the microphone as long as it's a 3.5 or does the software reject it?

13:35 solution is choose neither 😂 Btw the recommended Slim 9 with AMD was reviewed by Just Josh a few months ago and it seems pretty sub-par too. Guess I'll wait till next year..

Just ordered the Sennheiser Game One’s finally for like $80. I’ve been using a $15 headset I got 7 years ago with the pad worn completely off. lol I recently got the Phillips SHP9600’s for gaming, watching movies, and will be throwing a V-Moda Boom Pro mic on that and swap between the two for many years of use. Currently saving for a higher tier Sennheiser Audiophile headphone, so far I’m eying the HD650’s and HD800’s. Audioengine HD3’s kept me from investing in a headset, they sound phenomenal.

AMD beat Intel to a chip made specifically for gamers and bro here is PO'd? The 7800X3D is the fastest gaming chip in the world 2 years later. This dude has blue in his blood. He can't help it. My 2 year old 5800X3D is still among the fastest gaming chips in the world. It's ranked 4th right now...2 freaking years later. I can stay with AM4 for at least 3-4 more years. I do have a year 2020 X570 board so that will be 8 years on one platform. Bro here will have built 4 machines by then, but he will always have a fast machine...so will I. My board started with a 3700X. The 5700X3D was a major jump in FPS everywhere.

Question: what about power usage? Is there enough of a difference between the power usage of AIO's versus air cooling solutions for it to be a factor when considering the TCO of a system?

At least my air cooler doesn't leak and destroy the warranty on everything else.

Honestly, not having 5g is plus to me. My flagship phones routinely have issues with 5g. 5g is a damn scam. I'll have 5 bars of 5g signal, and can't load the Google home page. Unless I have 5 bars of 5g ultrawide band, nothing is loading.

I guess its not advantageous for intel to crank it up and create heat and fan problems when they're on par in performance benchmarks. I'd rather have the more efficient quieter system with great battery life since I'm not a power user. Intel has done a good job with these core ultra chips.

I really don't understand what HC do with their testing. They get results that are contrary to just about every other reviewer out there (including GN) on numerous AIO and Air Coolers. When I look at where they place some of the best coolers (of either type) in their charts compared to other reviews, it tells me there is something seriously wrong with their methodology. Just to pick on this review - everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY knows that the Arctic LF II outperforms every other AIO on the market significantly in noise normalized testing - yet here HC have in middle of the pack, in one test it is in the bottom third of performers. This is just ridiculous. I watched one of their recent Air Cooler tests, and again one of the best air coolers on the market they have in the bottom third and score it way below other coolers that pretty well every other review has getting spanked by that cooler (I'm talking about the AK620 btw). I blocked HC from my feed a while back due to seeing multiple reviews that had results that were obviously wrong - irritatingly I did a specific search and watched one of their vids yesterday and now they are back in my feed again and this load of codswallop pops up. Will be blocking them from my feed after writing this. And before anyone thinks about putting up the argument "maybe HC are right"...no. No they aren't.

Alarming that you only mention the downside of Roma g switches that you cannot sswap keycaps which nobody cares about. Should mention that a roma g switches keyboard becomes useless within a year bc roma g switches have issues with doduble triggers as you can obviously see.

I think for the stress tests in battery life, you should do a fixed load. Eg. Running the Witcher 3 with an FPS limit (30fps), or equivalent benchmark.
